Hello and welcome to the 365 project of Dana Beach from craftyminx.com! I wanted to create a separate blog for this project since it will be pretty big undertaking and I didn't want it to take over the craftyminx blog. If you wish to get to this page only you can use this link: http://craftyminx.typepad.com/a_granny_a_day/
My project is as the title of the blog suggests: A Granny A Day. I'll be making a crocheted granny square a day and sharing my progress here daily. I'll post a weekly round up of squares on my craftyminx blog.
Why granny squares? I love crochet and one of my big goals for this year is to complete a full sized afghan. I figure this project will help me make that happen and even give me a few more blankets for other loved ones in my life. I really wanted to do a different project but didn't see it working into my life to well, maybe it will fit in some other time.
Here's my first color palette:
All Colors are Hobby Lobby's I love this yarn:
1. Hot Rose 2. Sungold 3. Ivory
5. Grey Beard 4. Peacock 5. Old Leaf (discontinued)
I'll change color palettes as I finish enough squares for a blanket.
Each day I will share my square and the source for the pattern so you can follow along if you want to :)
Oh and for now, excuse the fact that I copied over the design from my other blog. I'll hopefully have time to give this blog it's own face lift but for now, this will have to do.
what a wonderful project! I will definitely be following along as I learn to crochet!

I hate that they discontinued that Old Leaf color! I used it a lot! and now I know why I can't find it anywhere! lol. these colors are beautiful!

Thanks Heather, I mourned the day I found out Old Leaf was discontinued. I even wrote Hobby Lobby and they said they didnt even have any in a warehouse. Maybe if all Old Leaf lovers signed a petition they would see how stupid it was of them to take it away! haha

Such a great idea. I am so going to use your blog as inspiration to make my granny square blanket out of the natural dyed yarn samples I have (http://www.roued.com/colours-colorwheels/).
Can't wait to see more.
