Pattern: #40 Granny with a Twist from 200 Crochet Blocks for blankets, throws, and afghans by Jan Eaton
Hook used: H
Finished Size: 8"
Colors Used: I love this yarn's Grey Beard, Hot Rose, Peacock, and Ivory
I added some navigation to the right side with archives and categories so you can filter the grannies by type and there's even an online pattern option if you only want to see grannies that I made with free online patterns.
Ready for my new color scheme for the March grannies? Here it is...
Top: Hot Rose, Antique White, Sungold, and Auberguine.
Middle: Cranberry, Old Rose, Soft Pink, and Sea Blue.
Bottom: Burnt Pumpkin, Dark Raspberry, Antique Teal, and Brown.
With all the flowers that this blanket makes, there are a lot of flower colors. (In case you missed my previous post, I'm making this afghan (Grans Garden) from this e-book for a gift.) I'm using Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" again for these squares. I thought about using cascade 220 or some knitpicks swish superwash, but when it came down to it I liked these colors better and acrylic makes for a good archival blanket. Bugs can't eat it, it doesn't break down easily, and you can machine wash it if you have to.
I also needed some colors for the base grannies that the flowers will sit on.
Linen, Antique Taupe, and Dark Raspberry.
What do you think? I'm pretty in love with these and I know the recipient will love them too.
I can't wait to get started on this one :)
