Pattern: Purple Motif Shawl from Quick and Easy Crochet - May/June 1989
Hook used: G (I think I ended up using a G to get the 8" square, but it could have been an H for this one)
Colors Used: I love this yarn's Grey Beard, Sungold, and Hot Rose.
I am really loving taking these motifs from other projects and turning them into squares for my project. This one is from a shawl pattern which is stitched in purple in the magazine. I couldn't really tell how awesome the pattern was until I made it because you know how awful the photos are in these older pamplet style craft magazines (if they even have a photo).
I also noticed that this magazine in particular didn't attribute patterns to anyone. I wish I knew who wrote the pattern, but I guess that's how they did things back in 89. I added a new category to the sidebar "Patterns from my magazine stash" because I really hate calling stuff from the 80s and 90s vintage when it's not. I'm from the 80s and I'm definitely not vintage.
Also, I have fun news. The Granny a Day blog is being featured on Noah Scalin's 365 blog today. This is the blog from the book that inspired my project so I'm very happy to be a part of his blog today!! So to welcome any new readers that stop by today! Thanks for visiting :)
Cool beans! :) I need to figure out what I'm going to do with mine. I think you've definitely hit on something by having a plan.
