9th square for the Square a Day in May.
I really like this one but it has the tendency to be a bit big on the corners so I tried to balance it out by doing some clusters on the corners of the last two rounds. It helped some. I had to block this one like crazy.
Speaking of blocking, I haven't showed you my new blocking boards.
I got these interlocking mats from knitpicks.com around the 3rd month of this project. My little cork knitting board I created couldn't take all the pinning. These are holding up a little better but I'm still wearing out the one I use all the time for the 8" blocks. You can't see it here but I drew a 12" square in the middle of these four mats so I don't have to measure every time. I also have an 8" square drawn on the other side of one of those for my other squares. These are a life saver since I pin and steam every one of my squares to get them "photo ready." I've never been so anal about things, but I can't stand a wonky granny square or blanket so I block them all. Tonight a little friend helped me while I was blocking.
I might keep him around for a while. He does a good job of lining things up ;)
Wow! very cool, - so that's what blocking looks like? :-)
