Hello and welcome to the 365 project of Dana Beach from craftyminx.com! I wanted to create a separate blog for this project since it will be a pretty big undertaking and I don't want it to take over the craftyminx blog. If you wish to get to this page only you can use this link: http://craftyminx.typepad.com/a_granny_a_day/ and you can subscribe to it on bloglovin' here.
My project is as the title of the blog suggests: A Granny A Day. I'm making a crocheted granny square a day and sharing my progress here daily. I post a weekly round up of squares on my craftyminx blog every Friday.
Why granny squares? I love crochet and one of my big goals for this year is to complete a full sized afghan. I figure this project will help me make that happen and even give me a few more blankets for other loved ones in my life.
New Readers:
Here's a little guide for any of you new reader's out there. First of all I'm so happy you're visiting!! I hope you come back often and become a new friend. Also just in case you're wondering who the heck I am, you can read a little bit about me here.
I crochet my squares with a finished blanket in mind. Each time I start a new blanket I change color palettes, sometimes I have more than one color palette going on at time so it can get a little confusing. To see all of my color palettes click here. I also tell which color I used in each blog post so it's easy to see what I used for each square.
Each day I will share my square and the source for the pattern so you can follow along if you want to. I also post all of my finished squares to my ravelry page if you're a ravelry member. My name is craftyminx there. My hope is that this blog will be a great resource for other lovers of granny squares, especially those wanting to participate in a 365 project so I've tried to split patterns up into easy to find categories on the right side bar. If you can think of any other category that you think I should add, I'm up for suggestions. Just add a comment or e-mail me. I imagine the free online patterns will be the most beloved link.
After I've finished a blanket, it will get its own highlight post. You can see those here.
Thanks for visiting and happy browsing!

WOW - what a wonderful blog! I found it when surfing for a kind of 911-help in making a blanket of crochet blocks. And you may be my rescue :-) I'm defently gonna follow your project in here. I hope it's okey that I've linked to your blog on my own (www.farmorfabrikken.dk) It's unfortunately on danish...

I just wanted to let you know how inspiring your blog is! I especially love your colour choices. I have been crocheting for about 1 1/2 years now, but have surprisingly never crocheted a granny square.. that may all change soon!

So did you start this at the beginning of this year? Anxious to see the finished project. Beautiful and a great idea to get rid of that crochet "ache" in an evening.
