This is a fairly boring square. I think this is why I'm almost finished with this book. All that's left are the boring squares. I do like how the flower is constructed though.

I really like this square and it's really simple. It would be a perfect square to try out the popcorn stitch for the first time.

I like the lacy squares, but I've been trying not to make too many of them because I don't want them to change the feel of my blanket too much. This one's not too lacy though. It's just right. Oh and while I was sick a wrote up a pattern to my circle granny square on day 137. So check it out. It's not my best effort, but it should suffice. I'm feeling much better by the way... finally!

I was saving this for Christmas for some reason... but there's really no reason to save this because of its name. I forgot to post this yesterday because we were too busy celebrating my niece Olive's first birthday! I'll post today's square after I finish it.

In the book, this square is done in one color. I wanted to play off the name Sunshine and kind of give it the look of a sunset, by adding in the pink.

I've gone back and forth on whether or not I wanted to use this square for this blanket. I thought it might throw off the dynamic of the blanket with the grid effect. It's such a fun little square. And if I didn't know horrible it would be, I would make a full blanket out of these little 2.5" squares. I'm not that crazy though. Ok maybe a baby blanket. ;)

Another simple one with texture from front-post double crochet stitches. I really like this square but it makes a really dense fabric. It would be really well suited for a pot holder.

I absolutely love how simple this square is and how lovely it looks with the tiny bit of texture the treble stitches create.

I rarely say this, but I like this one better in one color. It's just a little too busy for me. What do you think?
These baby blankets are just big enough that I can't get a good full on photo of them. That's it, I need a wide angle lens. haha I like to justify incredibly big purchases with silly reasons.
To finish off this blanket I learned another new joining method! I used the flat braid joining technique with this one. While it's a little more time consuming than the zig zag chain method I used on the other blanket, it is way prettier! I can't recommend it enough for baby blankets. Do you all know of any other cool joining methods? I will never sew squares together ever again!
I finished it off with a couple of rounds of two dc clusters and a shell stitch edging.
