So you all know I did potholder week because I couldn't figure out what to do next. Well some of the colors I used for the potholders inspired me and Adaiha inspired me to buy this book so here we go. Today starts my going through Leisure Arts 99 Granny Squares to Crochet.
I won't be making all the squares from this book. There are a few that are duplicates of squares I've already made so I'll just be working around ones I remember making before.
Those are my colors above! They're a little more toned down than I would normally go for but I'm totally in love with them. Because of this, I am using the pink sparkle yarn to add a little pizazz.
They are:
Michael's Loops and Threads Impeccable Worsted in Aqua, Bronze, and Soft Fern.
Hobby Lobby's I love this yarn in Antique White, Metallic Pinky Toes, and Buttercup.
I've been so inspired by your project! Your gorgeous color combos bring new life to a "granny hobby." :) I want to make an afghan now! I was wondering how much yarn you need for a blanket? Do you buy 2 of each color? more?

Hi Megan,
Thanks so much! I have been trying to count, but Im really bad at keeping track of how much yarn I use because I start out with two skeins per color then when I run out of the first skein I buy a new one just in case I need it. The two baby blankets I made back in May were two skeins of each color, and the hobby lobby I love this yarn has more yarn in a skein than most other brands (over 300 yards). My other bigger blankets probably have more than three skeins per color.
Hope that helps!
Dana

I'm so excited that you're using the I Love This Yarn with the sparkle in it. I've been curious about how it would look but too timid to try it myself. Pretty selection of colors!

Its pretty great Amanda! It does have a tendency to be scratchy though. I wouldnt use it on baby blankets.
