107/365 - Purple Passion Heart Square

Colors Used: I love this yarn's Soft Pink, Sungold, Sea Blue, and Old Rose

7th square for the  Square a Day in May. 

I wasn't too excited to make this one. It looked kind of boring and it was kind of boring. It's cool how the heart is made, I just wish I wouldn't have had to make it into a 12 inter. I guess I could have tried to make it more interesting but I was uninspired by it. I like the way it looks finished though and it will be really cute for a baby blanket.

A big thank you to Adaiha for testing my pattern for me. She is doing a Granny a Day this year too and we have crocheted many of the same squares. She photographs all her grannies on vintage sheets (a woman after my own heart), has pretty pretty color choices, and she's a fellow Okie. So yeah, you should check out her blog.

This is a really easy square. Perfect for a beginner. I made quite a few changes on the rounds to get it to 8".

19/365 - Grandma's Heart Square

I LOVE THIS PATTERN! The end :)  I used the puff stitch option instead of the popcorn stitch. I just learned how to make the puff stitch recently and I have to say it is my new favorite. there's just something about it that makes me giddy.

18/365 - Hearts All Around

I didn't complete all the rounds of grey that the pattern called for. I just did the first round and then SCs around to make it 8".

17/365 - Center Heart Square

Finished Size: 8"

Colors Used: I love this yarn's Grey Beard, Sungold, hot rose, and Ivory

This one made me cuss. I'm really bad at directions with lots of steps and no visual chart. I only completed rounds 1-8 of the pattern and then added a round in the grey. I also added an sc of pink around the heart.

I guess I should mention that all of my squares for this color scheme are 8" so I can join them together when I get enough finished. That's why I didn't finish this pattern. It finishes at 12" I really like the V stiches around the edge of the original that make a zig zag effect. I might have to try that out another time.

16/365 - Heart Granny Square

Finished Size: probably 7" but I stretched it to 8" to fit. 

Colors Used: I love this yarn's Grey Beard,  hot rose, and Old Leaf

This is definitely the easiest of the Heart Grannies that I'm doing. It is in UK stitching terms instead of US but there's a link to the conversion on the pattern page. Also, I did the pink stitches in the back loops only of the heart because I wanted the heart to stand out more. I'm not sure how I feel about this decision yet.

15/365 - Lacy Bullion Heart

This was my first time using the bullion stitch. It was a little difficult at first and I had to redo the flower part about three times before it looked right but I've got it down now.
