I really love how you can take a really ordinary granny square and spice it up with some spike stitches. Pretty, easy, done.

I'm not sure what happened but I ended up with two of this square, oh well. It has a lot of texture and is a very sturdy square. I wouldn't make a blanket out of just this square because of that fact, but it will work fine mixed in with other squares. It could make a really cool rug for the floor though! It's nice and thick and would feel good on your feet with all of the texture.
Yes, I'm back!!! That break was much too long. With crochet school and getting ready for Deluxe, this project had to take a back burner for a few months, but I'm back at it and ready to finish it up :)

So I decided to brighten this one up a bit by making the popcorns different colors. This is pretty easy, but not for the faint of heart when it comes to weaving in ends. Thankfully these popcorns were close enough that I was able to do them with the same strand of yarn on each side.
