If you've never done this it can be quite the daunting task. Trying to get the seams apart without cutting the actual yarn can prove to be all consuming. I've spent about 5 hours on this one sweater that I bought last night from the thrift store. I'm not finished with it yet and once I do finish I have to figure out how to get it to straighten out. Putting it in the shower to steam on a hanger didn't help much. I think I'll just leave it in there a few days. I guess if you are willing to spend the time, its totally worth it. Getting a couple of skeins of gorgeous yarn for 4 bucks isn't that bad at all. I have a cashmere sweater with a couple of moth holes that's just waiting to be made into socks!

I finally finished this project last night. I got about 10 balls of yarn in various sizes out of it. Good stuff. Now I just need to figure out what to do with it. There's a crocheted shirt I want to make but I don't think this will give me enough yarn to make it.
