I'm working on socks for my dad. They are turning out beautifuly. Here's a sneak peek...

and this is the best part! I picked up the heel flap stitches right and no hole at the top of the gusset!!! and I learned how to ssk the right way so both sides look right. Man socks are harder than I like.

This is only the first sock. Again, why I hate socks. You think you're finished and then, Doh I have to make another one! Some knitters like them because they are fast and you can do tons of different patterns with them. Boo on that! They give me a headache.
Moving on... There are numerous little ones on the way in my circle of peeps. I'm thinking of making baby afghans and booties. Or just booties, we can't get all ambitious for the first ever stuff made for baby. There is this amazing book (pictured above) that has the most darling (omg I just said darling...puke) baby items. here are pics of the two that I would love to make. These would be my first ever blankets, but they look rather easy.

I would probably do this in different colors, although I love these, I've bought yarn in the pink family. There are little girls coming. John wants this made big sized for him. Hmmm we'll see friend. They say knitting a sweater will make men run, what about an afghan? I would think it would mean the same. Oh well my craziness hasn't made him run away yet. Thank God for good friends that stick around.

I am in love with this. I'm defintely going to make this one for someone. It would be wonderful to have this for myself at some point. Can't you just see that laying over the top of a lime green crushed velvet sofa? Yeah I have visions of kitschy grandeur.
Oh the joy of granny squares. You can just keep making them and when you have enough just sew them together and ba-da-bing! I see it already, Dana with a crochet hook permanently attached to her right hand.
