It wasn't too bad until I was about halfway there then the rain REALLY started coming down. I was running late and cars were starting to pull off the highway. NOT FUN! I kept going...but at a snail's pace, slowly making my way down I-40. The roads in Shawnee were pretty flooded and I was scared to take my shortcut so I took the main exit. It didn't seem much better, but I made it to the doctor's office. I actually got to meet my doctor (after 5 years of being a patient) haha I usually see a nurse practitioner. I was in there for like 5 seconds he looked in my nose said "yeah, you have a TON of drainage! Let me fix you up." The nurse came back in and said, "sinus infection eh?" and handed me a prescription for a z-pack and some uber-decongestant and I was on my way.
Oh but that's not the end of my tale... sorry. It was still coming down super hard so I decided to get my prescription taken care of at the Walmarts (back woods folk add the s for some reason). I park relatively close to the store and find myself completely soaked when I enter the store. I had a rain coat on! I have no idea how it happened. So I got to sit there freezing for 35 minutes while they tried to get my insurance to go through. Ugh
The drive back was still scary. There were a few cars in the median that had probably hydroplaned. Thankfully, I wasn't one of them. It finally stopped raining about halfway through my drive. I'm glad to be home and very glad to have some drugs that will actually work on my stupid nose.
