on Vacation...

I got my Ravelry invite! And I'm on vacation with Gypsy's computer so I can't even play with it that much, dammit! He had been wonderful enough to let me use it to set up my profile. He's good to me like that.

We are in Galveston, TX getting some sun. I'll post pictures when I get home. I'm working on three pairs of socks. Its hard to knit with sunscreen on your hands. ok, I'm going back outside now! Everyone have a great week. I'll be online sometime on Saturday or Sunday.

Pushing Daisies

I didn't know anything about my two favorite TV shows until they were canceled after their first season and put on DVD. Firefly and Wonderfalls are amazing TV shows that you should totally watch if you haven't already. Heroes is my newest love and I'm soo glad that I got to see that one from the very first episode! Well here's another show that I am hyped up about. Pushing Daisies is about Ned (Lee Pace, brother in Wonderfalls) who can bring things and people back to life for a minute by touching them. If he doesn't touch them again, to end their life within the minute, another's life is taken. He ends up working for a detective to find out who murdered people... Blah blah blah, he brings back the love of his life, but can't touch her again or she will die. I am excited about this first of all because I've seen the preview and it looks good, secondly Jim Dale is the narrator(!) and finally, because the writer/producer (Bryan Fuller) is the writer/producer for two of my favorite shows, Wonderfalls and Heroes! I can't wait for September!

I'm finished, Its finished...

It seems like the end of an era. I should be more upset... maybe I'll really feel the end after the seventh movie comes out. Its an amazing book and ending to the series. Absolutely perfect!

Alive and still reading...

I'm on page 498. So many things have happened... many things have come to pass and have come true... and there are many things that have been a complete surprise. My goal is to finish tonight. I don't have much left. I would be done if life weren't getting in the way. With Gypsy leaving in August, we've been trying to hang out with friends as much as possible. But I had the book open the whole time and every once in a while someone would ask "how's it going? What's happened so far, etc." Its been good and has helped me remember what I've read so far. another awesome picture...

because seeing me without make up at midnight wasn't enough, lets throw in an unwashed picture as well.

Need break... reading hard

So I promptly got my book at 12:02 and was back in my apartment reading by 12:15. How's that for a fast acting Walmart trip? I was a little disheartened that I couldn't be with the uber geeks at Barnes and Noble in my garb, but it was nice to kind of have some time to myself as well. I am more sad about not being able to read it with Bri and Alicia in the same room. Oh well. I'm in the middle of chapter 6 and its oh so good so far. That's all I will say. I'll leave you with a God-awful picture of me...

DH update!

So I didn't get to go to Texas because of life and the army (its a long story). So I had to get a book here. Since Borders and Barnes and Noble have had waiting lists since February, I decided to see what Walmart was doing. Its like one minute away from my apartment, so it was the obvious best choice. They were handing out armbands at eight. I was the third person to get one and I came home. Now I am impatiently waiting for midnight so I can go get my book and read until my eyes will not stay open anymore. Woot Gryffindor! (and hairy arms, ewwww)

3 and 3/4 FOs

I went to B Sew-Inn's Christmas in July festival of fun today with my mom since I decided not to travel to Texas today. I'm not a huge fan of sewing, but I decided to have fun with my mommy while she was here. I made three little take home things with the different baby lock machines that they sell.

a fun appliquéd Christmas card (using the ellegante and embellisher) a gift bag (using the imagine wave) and a luggage wrap tag (using the big a** professional embroidery machine)

And while in the morning class for the event. I pretty much finished this...

and it fits like a dream. I just need to sew the top hem down and add elastic and a red ribbon.

QOOP part 3 and Lelah

My Finished Projects gallery book came in today and its great! Ok so alot of the pictures are not so great, but that's my problem not QOOP's most of those were taken with my old camera.

These photos aren't that great either come to think of it. My new camera has all these settings that I don't know how to use yet. I'm sure I will one day be able to take a good picture with out having to buy a $1000 camera.

I started the Lelah top today in anticipation of my beach trip. I'm leaving in a week and a half! Here's my progress so far. I'm knitting it in cotton ease (swoon! thank you lion brand!) in the color, lake. I'm going to put a cherry red ribbon in it to match a new red vintage-inspired cardigan that I bought recently.

This is an easy and fun pattern. I'm glad I decided to make it on a whim. Now I'm going to knit on it and watch Hollywoodland.
