Summer woes

I'm just now realizing how crazy I am to be taking 2 summer school classes. It was ok until this weekend. Class Friday night and all day Saturday. I had four assignments due and 2 quizzes for that class. My other class has a quiz due tonight and an assignment, both due at midnight. God bless the Starbucks employee who gave me free coffee tonight. I'm going to need the caffeine.

I didn't even realize that the 4th of July was coming up. I finally made plans this morning. I'll be with Levi's family. They are fun, it should be exciting. I'll have to get some knitting together to take.

Speaking of knitting... I got my last of the yarn orders I made

Isn't it pretty!?! I was soo excited to see mini skeins, because of course, you know I won't be using this for socks, but for my hexagon blanket. Here is what it looks like so far...

I am totally in love with this thing. I don't know what it is about crochet granny squares/hexagons, but they totally turn me on haha ;)

Day in review

First... Bella is fine. I won't go into details but she apparently digested a bunch of my hair and I'm guessing that is what made her sick. Gross right?!?

The fiber fairy came to visit this week! I ordered stuff from Enchanted Knoll and KCknits.

Enchanted Knoll Gypsy superwash merino - I of course bought this for Gypsy.

KCknits pink lemonade batts - I love this!!!! Pink from space is my favorite color. :)

They also sent extras which were fun as well. I'll save those for when I get a wheel and can throw bits and bobbles in... and I got my last yarn pirate booty club yarn. It is pretty and soft! You can look at my flickr if you want to see it ;)

My last credit card purchase got delivered by fedex today. This is from coastal scents.

It is a 78 color palette and a bunch of pink handled brushes. Their palettes are only $20 each and have high pigmented colors. I'm excited about getting to play with it!

Tonight I made risotto for dinner. I finally found arborio rice and made it for the first time with some organic low sodium chicken broth. It was sooo yummy!

Now back to homework.

A new day

Well I seem to have a lot of the old site moved over. I'm going to make some changes to graphics and what not, I think Monday night is graphics night 'o' fun. I have some other things to do for Beth as well.

Bella was sick all night last night. I hate puke. She seems much better today, but I'm staying home to make sure she is. I can't afford another vet visit. She is whining like crazy wanting loves this morning. Every time I take my hand away to type she gets fussy and I hear baby alien sounds. I don't have time for a needy dog right now. I have 4 assignments to work on for class this weekend.

I'm taking pictures of fiber today. I'll post them at some point. It is stuff that came in this weekend and I haven't had time to share yet.

I'm moving!

I'm beginning the process of moving this blog over to typepad. I'm trying to decide whether or not to just begin anew or to actually move the posts. I reached one of those defining moments in my life today. You know... one of those "OH MY GOD WHAT AM I DOING?" moments. In the middle of my work day, I chopped up my credit card (I only have one thankfully and I won't tell you how much my balance was, but it was high), wrote out a budget and decided to cancel all of the subscriptions that were subtracting money from my bank account every month.

Sadly, this means no more yarn pirate booty club (tears were shed for this one), blockbuster all access pass, and go daddy hosting (that I never even used!). That was about 50 bucks... Then I began thinking... I don't want to cancel my domain name, but I really want to use it. Let's look into type pad and low and behold they have their own hosting. I would be able to save some money and get my domain name to go to my blog without having to deal with blogger anymore! Hell YEAH! So I did it. Hopefully... if I did things right (crosses fingers)... www.craftyminx.com will now take you to www.craftyminx.typepad.com or it will in a day or so. So far from what I've seen, I love the way typepad works! I'll put out an official post when I'm ready for you all to move over with me. Yay I'm excited!

Hopefully, this won't be the end of the new me. I need to purge some other things from my life. First, about a third of all the crap I bought with that credit card needs to leave this place. Funny thing is, I rarely use my credit card to buy crafty stuff. I only end up using it for all of those damn shopaholic trips I end up taking to target and the m.a.c. counter. So I may start doing home destashes or something. haha

And just because all of this has caused me to keep from doing homework I'll add this... Bella threw up on my bed today and I accidentally laid in it! Yeah gross I know. I hope she is ok, she hasn't been eating very much lately. I think I worry too much about her sometimes.

crazy busy

School is sucking my life away. I may be a little blob of dana goo after this week is over. Needless to say, I won't be blogging much. But If you do feel so inclined to stalk me I now have a plurk account. Please sign up and friend me :) I also sometimes update my twitter at work when I'm bored.
