I realized the other day that I often talk about people and never tell who they are or why they are significant enough to be mentioned on my blog ;). So here we go, a list and description of the crazy characters in my life. These are also the people I make stuff for most often. They are special and I love them.
Boyfriend - Ok ready? Meet Sheldon, he isn't innocent enough to be protected anymore. He's a librarian and my love. He likes Superman, cooking, writing, and watching poorly produced horror films. We watched Black Sheep after a couple of dates and I still love him. He's currently moving in with me and can I just say that it is true love that I would let him fill my dining room up with his boxes right after I emptied it of my boxes... that and I cleaned out a closet for him.
Gypsy or John depending on how much I want to protect him - John has been my bff since Freshman year of college. I would tell you how many years that is, but it would just make us feel old. He's the only person I've been through so many things with and we have a history so deep that it's down right impenetrable. He is family to me. He lives in Louisiana where he is doing God knows what. I think it has something to do with schooling, teaching, and comic books.
Bri (sometimes referred to as Breezy) - Bri is my best girlfriend. She has a heart of gold. I love her and don't get to see or talk to her as much as I would like since she got married and moved to Texas. We've been friends since freshman year of college as well and we lived together for a few years in there. She is quirky and has made me see the beauty of yellow, a color I often don't think of as pretty. I usually try to make her my partner in crafting crime, but Bri would rather set at Starbucks with a good book or run a marathon.
Levi or Leaves - Levi is the only best friend I have left in OKC. He is the greatest. He loves antique shopping, make-up, and music. This guy is all around fun and he tells me that I am beautiful even when I don't see it. Something I definitely needed when I was single.
Mom - My mom is Angie. She has seriously taught me everything I know. She mostly sticks to sewing and quilting now and is currently the president of her quilting guild. She tends to be a little more reserved about her crafting, needing reassurance to start something big. But I'm always there to tell her she can do it. She is also a wonderful cook and makes amazing cakes in her spare time.
(my parents and me at my college senior recital)
Dad - My daddy is Bill. He is a cowboy. And yeah, I'm pretty sure I haven't seen him without a mustache since I was in junior high. My parents bought a ranch in Eastern Oklahoma when I was in college. Since then, he has built an amazing house and started a small cattle herd. My dad is one of those people that can do anything as long as he has a book to tell him how. He's really good with machines and is pretty crafty himself. He does woodwork (he built all of the cabinets and trim in the new house out of ceder trees that they have on their property), leather work, welding and occasionally he even breaks out his own sewing machine.
Booty J - Jenny is my crafty business buddy. She is all about the crochet, but does some other things on the side, usually involving a Sizzix. We met a few years ago on craftster and I joined her at a crochet group in town. We were the two more "subversive" people in the group and have just kind of stuck together ever since. We always do shows together and currently we make blankets together ( I knit and she does the crochet edge). It's great to have a really good friend in the crafting world.
