I can't believe it is already the holiday season! I'm really excited for the next 6 days because I have holiday and vacation leave from work and I will be doing all kinds of crafting. I have a lot to do!
We're going to our parents' tonight and staying until Sunday (my parents live 45 minutes from Sheldon's so we'll be going between the two houses). This is my crafting arsenal:
too much? Probably, but I have issues thinking I will have time to do stuff while I'm away and then never really getting that much done. I should learn, but I don't, so it all comes with us!
In these bags are my supplies for making my holiday organizer
I bought the tutorial from Rachel at Smile and Wave weeks ago and just haven't had any time to put it together, though I've been gathering supplies for a while.
I am also going to make an advent calendar for me and Sheldon. I was inspired by Elise's cute felt advent calendar:
I'll be making half of the activities and Sheldon will make the other half. That way, one of us will be surprised every day. I think this will be a great tradition for us. Since we started dating during the Christmas season last year (December 21st), the month is special to both of us.
The third of my major projects is my coat. Yes, this year I decided to sew my own coat. I don't have pictures of the progress so far, but I've done everything except the hem on the bottom and the button holes. Here's a pic of the pattern. I'm doing the long version in gray wool with black satin lining. It has been a major project for me, but I'm glad I decided to tackle it.
I also have a few getting ready for deluxe projects as well. Yup, I'm going to be busy for the next 6 days and I am sooo very thankful to have that much time to work on fun stuff! Everyone have a fantastic Thanksgiving!!!
