Goodness, I know I said I would be blogging more often and not wait and hold on to everything until Wednesday, but the week has flown by and had no pictures ready until now.
On Friday, My new camera toys came in the mail!
I ordered a lens (Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II), Radio Remote (Aputure" Pro Coworker Wireless Remote Trigger), hood and UV filter. I haven't seen anything but greatness about this lens and it is pretty awesome. I'm pretty sure the rest of the photos in this post were taken with it, most of which were taken in early morning light/dark so I'm pretty happy with it. The remote is awesome!!! If you have a canon rebel ( I think this one works with any model) you should get it! We've been having lots of fun playing with it...
I'm still working on getting my focusing and stuff right with it. We'll be setting up a mock booth at my parent's in two weeks just to make sure the lighting I have in mind will work after dark and all that fun stuff.
On saturday, My mom, Jemellia, and I whipped out 113 napkins from vintage sheets. I didn't even think to take pictures of us working because we were working so hard! I'm totally in love with all of the patterns.
I'm planning on wrapping all of the plastic ware with these and tying them with ribbon so people can just grab and go. Any that aren't covered in barbecue sauce, and don't walk off with guests will be made into a quilt for us with some additions of embroidery that I made for the wedding.
On Sunday, my mom, Sheldon and I took our ring bearer suit shopping. Do you know how hard it is to find a grey pinstriped suit for a little boy? Let me help any of you that ever need to do this, got to Burlington Coat Factory. They have a huge assortment of boys suits in a large range of sizes and they are inexpensive. We found a Calvin Klein suit in his size and the right color for $50. I'm a little sad we couldn't find a vest so he could match the big boys, but he looks pretty dapper anyways :)
This week has been devoted to printing. Tons of paper everywhere!
I designed and printed our photo sharing cards. I found some unopened business card paper in a drawer and decided free was the best way to go. I dressed them up by rounding all the corners.
Oh and I finished the design for the button package toppers. I'm still printing all of these out and stapling them on.
There's a thank you note on the back of them. I guess I forgot to take a photo of that.
Something else I'm really excited about is our wedding website or wedsite update!!! I was going through my google reader on last Thursday, when I noticed this post from Offbeat Bride. We've had our website with Mywedding.com since the beginning, but never really loved any of the templates. But now with the Offbeat Bride partnership, there are actually some great templates!!
I really like the Dance Card template designed by Royal Steamline which features classic tattoo designs. It fits us very well. :)
I highly recommend mywedding.com for wedding websites, because they are completely free, have free planning tools available, and they allow multiple RSVPs for different events. This allowed us to have a full online RSVP for our guests and so far 100 people have used it so I think it's working out nicely. They also have invitations you can order to match most of the templates if you want the matchy matchy thing.
Oh and no I'm not getting anything from offbeat bride or mywedding.com I just love them and need to shout their awesomeness from my rooftop :)
