I mentioned earlier this week that I'm going to visit a friend in Texas this weekend and we're going to IKEA. Since we don't have an IKEA in Oklahoma, I usually only go once or twice a year when we need something big for the house and then look around and buy a lot of crap we don't need. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that does that, am I right?
Last time I went to buy the items for my studio makeover and I used their shopping list function. It made a world of difference, so I decided to do the same this time and wanted to share with you what my plans are, because I'm bored and wanted to play in photoshop :)
- MAKROS Pendant Lamp
- EXPEDIT Bookcase
- KASSETT Box for paper with lid
- LINGO Magazine file
- STRIKT Magazine box with lid
Every thing except the MAKROS lamp is going in our guest bed room to replace the desk that has always been an unattractive catch-all. I always said I would never get an expedit because it seems like EVERYONE has one, but we need the storage it will provide so I guess I'm ok with it. Since we need a place to put our record collection which is currently in two boxes on the floor, this is our best option plus with the boxes I'm buying, I can hide all the stuff that we need that was in the desk.
The lamp is going in my studio. Lighting was the last piece of my puzzle in that room and I always wanted the MAKROS in there but it was way too big (like 3 feet wide!). IKEA made a smaller version which tickles me pink! I know it won't be a good lighting solution for a workspace, but I don't really rely on overhead lights to do my work anyway so I hope it will work out. Otherwise, I'll put it in our room. Either way, I have to have it!
