Hi all! I've been thinking a lot about doing some online classes. My day job is training and e-learning related so I would really like to try my hand at it here on the blog.  I do a lot of small tutorials here and would really like to branch out. So would you be interested?

What I really need to know is what do you want to learn. I love teaching beginning knitting, embroidery, and crochet classes in person so I think a class of video sessions could be the answer. So help me pick what to develop first...

 Crochet, Embroidery, Knitting, all of the above, or something else?

I already have tons of ideas for each of these, but once I find out what you want, I'll develop my ideas and share more information as soon as I get something together.

Also if the course was available by purchase only, would you buy it? It wouldn't be expensive, (probably under $20) but if people are willing to pay a little, I could do some really cool things and spend more time on it. I've never tried to make money on my blog and don't plan to while I have a full time job, but writing big courses does cost money and time and this will be a big undertaking.

Thanks blog friends, your input will really help me out! I don't want to waste time on something that you don't care to learn.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I had an idea to make this gif so we set up the camera and remote after dinner and made it happen haha. I love it when my husband humors me and my silly ideas :)

Elvis Pancakes!

I made these for us on Wednesday when we were snowed in. I think they would be great to make a loved one for Valentine's Day.

This recipe makes 2 giant plate sized pancakes.

Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons melted butter
4 pieces of slightly under-cooked bacon and chopped into small pieces
1 banana sliced

Whisk the dry ingredients together. Add everything but the bacon and banana, and mix well.

Pour about half of the batter onto a hot oiled griddle. It wil be pretty thick so you may have to spread it around a bit. Add half of the bacon and banana to the pancake.

Cook the pancake until bubbles form and the edges look cooked. Flip carefully and cook the other side.

While the other side is cooking, spread on the peanut butter (in a heart shape if you wish) so it can get melty.

Serve and enjoy!

These were soo yummy and filling! Sheldon isn't a fan of pancakes because of the white flour and syrup so I made these with whole wheat flour and because of all the add ins he didn't add any syrup with his. He gave them his seal of approval so these are now a fixture in our house.

Valentine Decor

It all started with a thrifting spree where I found this picture...

...and then after a bunch of ravelry searching looking for heart granny squares. I found a couple that weren't squares that I still wanted to make. I had to have a place to hang these rouge hearts, so I decided to make a little Valentine's Day vignette.

There's one heart missing, which didn't get finished in time to use the sunlight to take this picture.  So pretend like there's another heart on the left. I'm already thinking about what to change/add for next year :)

Thrifted Thursday

 

I am a sap for cute looking lonely mugs... I have a huge collection of them which I will one day share. I'm thinking next year I'll have a collection a week to share all the awesome things I get thrifting haha.

On a side note. If you're ever near Irving, go to this thrift store! This Union Gospel Mission thrift store is HUGE! I got a lot of wonderful things from this place. I was really smitten with their furniture section though. They had 4 small organs and like 5 pianos for sale. I should have taken pictures of the cool stuff I left in the store.

Crocheted Valentine Bunting

I had a lot of time on my hands during the snow storm last week. This allowed me to finally put away Christmas decorations and start thinking of Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for because it means lots of pink and red, cute candy, hearts and other girlie things that I love. To be honest, I often keep a few of my v-day decorations out year round because I love them so much. Having too much time at home = crafting ideas and I came up with this cute Valentine's Day Bunting pattern to share with you! You can download it here.
